El Cadí-El Moixeró
Natural Park
Nature, culture and landscape.
Catalonia
A great country to discover!
Sant Llorenç de Morunys
The Vall de Lord's heart!
The UTBCN (Ultra Trail de Barcelona) goes to the Cadí! The ULTRA distance will visit the two great mountain ranges of Cadí and Moixeró, joined by the Tancalaporta neck, forming an impressive mountain barrier at the junction between the Pre-Pyrenees and the Pyrenees.
It is in this area where the Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park hosts, in addition to great biodiversity, places of special beauty and attractiveness.
The Vall de Lord is located north of the Solsonès region and includes the municipalities of Sant Llorenç de Morunys, Coma and la Pedra i La Coma
The municipality of Sant Llorenç de Morunys, a small area of only 4.2 km², is located at the foot of the Sierra del Port del Comte, on the right side of the Cardener River, surrounded for the most part by the Guixers district, except in the north, which borders Coma i la Pedra. It also includes the enclave that includes the Mola de Lord, with the sanctuary of Lord.
We are giving you a challenge: let your imagination soar and pretend to be a travel writer. You could choose to be Ulysses, Jules Verne or Stevenson. With a notepad under your arm, your destination will be Catalonia. Shall we begin?
When you arrive, the first thing you'll notice is the diverse landscape. The Mediterranean shows up in the story. This sea bathes the entire coast, which affects the character of the people here. It has been an entry point for many civilisations and cultures who have together woven the history of Catalonia and formed the Catalan culture: with its own language, Catalan, and multiple expressions.
But the sea is not all. To the north, the Catalan Pyrenees rise imposingly as the second natural border, where the rural world coexists with the new visitors, and also the 18 Natural Parks around the country.
